Our goal

We want everyone to be able to read the church’s teachings and get in touch. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we’ve built in

  • A “skip to main content” link and a logical heading structure on every page.
  • Navigation, menus, filters and forms that work with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
  • Text and background colours chosen for readable contrast.
  • Layouts that adapt from small phones to large screens, and that respect browser zoom and larger text settings.
  • Reduced motion for anyone who has asked their device to minimise animation.
  • Print-friendly layouts for documents.

What has been checked

During the initial build, pages were checked with an automated accessibility tool and reviewed for keyboard use and heading order. Automated tools catch only some problems, so we don’t claim full conformance on that basis alone.

Known limitations

  • Images: every image has descriptive alternative text, except purely decorative artwork, which is hidden from screen readers.
  • Forms do not yet connect to an online service (see Privacy).
